At House Martins Nursery, we believe every child deserves the very best start in life. Since opening our doors in May 1999, we have remained dedicated to providing exceptional childcare and early education at an affordable price for families in our community.

For over 25 years, our commitment has stayed the same: creating a warm, nurturing environment where children feel safe, valued, and inspired to learn. While the world around us has changed, our focus on high-quality care, emotional wellbeing, and accessibility has never wavered.

A Home-from-Home Environment

We understand that starting nursery is a huge milestone — not just for children, but for families too. That’s why we offer unlimited settling-in sessions completely free of charge.

These sessions allow children to build confidence, develop secure relationships with our practitioners, and become familiar with their surroundings at their own pace. We know that children thrive when they feel emotionally safe, and we work closely with families to ensure every child feels happy, secure, and ready to begin their learning journey.

Throughout our nursery, you’ll find cosy, calming spaces designed to help children relax, recharge, and regulate their emotions whenever they need a quiet moment. Our experienced and reflective practitioners support children through co-regulation, helping them build confidence, resilience, and strong emotional wellbeing.

Inspiring Learning Through Play

At House Martins, learning is meaningful, engaging, and child-led. Our activities are carefully planned to support development across all seven areas of the EYFS, while also embracing each child’s individual interests, curiosities, and strengths.

Using the In the Moment Planning approach, our practitioners create rich learning opportunities based on what fascinates children most. This enables every child to develop naturally, confidently, and at their own pace.

Inspired by our motto, “Hand in Hand, Together We Can” our curriculum complements the EYFS framework and supports children to become confident, capable, and school-ready learners.

Supporting Emotional & Physical Development

Physical development and emotional expression are a huge part of our nursery experience. We are proud to offer dedicated Jabadao Movement Play Areas within both our 0-2 area and preschool.

These exciting spaces encourage children to:

Develop balance, coordination, and strength
Build confidence in movement
Express themselves freely
Release energy in a positive and healthy way

Our environment is carefully designed to support the whole child — emotionally, socially, physically, and academically.

Healthy Meals Prepared Fresh On Site

We know that good nutrition plays a vital role in children’s growth, wellbeing, and development. That’s why we provide nutritious, freshly prepared meals every day, fully compliant with the Early Years Nutrition Guidance 2025.

Children enjoy:

A healthy breakfast
A two-course lunch
A two-course tea

Our experienced team of kitchen technicians cater for a wide range of dietary requirements and prepare all meals on site using locally sourced ingredients wherever possible.

Menus operate on a three-week rotation and are updated twice yearly to ensure variety, balance, and seasonal freshness.

An Inclusive Nursery for Every Child

At House Martins, inclusion is at the heart of everything we do. We are proud to be a fully inclusive setting where every child is welcomed, supported, and given equal opportunities to thrive.

We have:

Two qualified SENCo practitioners
A dedicated sensory room
Accessible facilities, including a disabled WC
Sensory supports such as ear defenders and fidget tools
Tailored support plans for individual needs

Our aim is to remove barriers to learning and ensure every child can access our environment with confidence and comfort.

Working in Partnership with Families

We value strong, positive relationships with parents and carers and believe that children achieve the best outcomes when families and practitioners work together.

We offer:

Regular parent meetings
Flexible communication around busy family schedules
Ongoing developmental updates
Opportunities for parents to share feedback and ideas

Every child receives a baseline assessment upon entry, followed by regular termly assessments to monitor progress and identify any additional support needs early. This ensures every child receives the right support, at the right time.

Fees & Sessions

At House Martins Nursery, we are committed to providing high-quality childcare that remains accessible and affordable for families.

Our fees, correct at the time of publication, are:

Full Day Session (8:00am – 6:00pm) — £75
Half Day Session (8:00am – 1:00pm) — £43
Half Day Session (1:00pm – 6:00pm) — £43

We also offer an early opening session from 7:30am upon request for a small additional charge, helping to support busy family schedules and working parents.

All sessions include:
